Children's Programs at Somonauk Public Library include:

Bounce Time is a once a month activity for babies and toddlers age 24 months. This is a 15-20 minute program which will include songs, rhymes, small books, bouncing on laps or knees and lots of hugs. Registration is required.

Weekly story hours for pre-school (age 2-5) children, include age appropriate stories, songs, crafts, and snack. Registration is required, various days and times are avaliable. Parents are required to accompany children.

After school story times for ages 6-9 year olds include age appropriate stories, craft, and snack. Registration is required, and usually meets one time per month.

Summer Reading Program is an annual summer long program for children of all ages, running from June through early August. Reading logs are given out at time of registration to record reading requirements throughout the summer. Activities include story times, activities, craft days, and special entertainment. Recognition and prizes are presented at the end of program event.

Museum Adventure Pass - Use your library card to get free admission or a special discount at participating Chicago area cultural destinations, such as Legoland Discovery Center, Brookfield Zoo, Naper Settlement and others. Available to Somonauk Public Library cardholders in good standing. Stop by the Patron Services Desk to get your pass. Visit for a list of participating museums.

Special programming events include breakfast with Santa in December as well as other special entertainment and programs throughout the year.
