Children's Programs at Somonauk Public Library:
Tot Tales is a weekly program that is geared towards children between the ages of 0-3 which introduces babies and toddlers to songs, rhymes, hand motions and books. Registration is required.
Weekly Story Hours are geared for children ages 3-6 and includes stories, songs, crafts, and snacks, registration is required.
STEAM meets once a month. Children ages 6-9 engage in hands on science, technology, engineering, Art and mathematical skill to solve puzzles or build simple projects, registration is required.
Paws for Reading meets the fourth Thursday of every month. Children are invited to read for 15 minute increments to therapy dogs. Registration is required.
Summer Reading Program is an annual summer long program for children of all ages that runs from June through early August. Reading logs are given out at time of registration to record reading requirements throughout the summer. Recognition and prizes are presented at the end of the program during an award program.
ABC Mouse for Libraries offers a safe, 100 percent educational environment for children, with no advertising or links to external websites. Museum Adventure Pass – Use your library card to get free admission or special discounts at participating Chicago area cultural destinations, such as Legoland Discovery Center, Brookfield Zoo, Naper Settlement and many more!
